Sim2real in practice: xBerry’s Wiktor Bajor at AI NOW Polska Webinar #6
A robot that performs flawlessly in simulation can fail every attempt in the real world. On October 13, our Robotics Engineer Wiktor Bajor will show at AI NOW Polska Webinar #6 how sim2real helps close that gap.
Sim2real: from simulation to a real robot
Sim2real: transferring an AI model trained in simulation to a real robot. Simulation is fast and cheap, but it does not capture changing light, sensor noise or the unpredictability of the physical world. That is why a model that excels in simulation often fails on real hardware.
The sim2real experiment: from 0% to 80% success
In his lightning talk “Sim2real: from 0% to 80% robot success rate”, Wiktor will present an experiment that combined simulation data with just 50 episodes recorded on a real robot. Task success rose from 0% to 80%. He will cover AI training, data quality, and how the robot reacts when the ball disappears from its field of view.
Why this matters: the less real-world data a model needs, the faster a robotics project moves from prototype to deployment.
About the speaker
At xBerry, Wiktor develops perception systems and software for a large robot fleet, combining C++, ROS 2 and computer vision with sensor and hardware integration. He also works on a Physical AI project that helps robots handle changing, real-world environments.
Event details
The program also features Paweł Kiszczak on local LLMs in production and Maciej Słowik (Akamai) on building safe AI agents.
